Socks, Socks, Socks.....

Did you know that we have at least  43 different sock yarns in the shop, hand dyes, solid colors, variegated, self-striping, color changing, self-patterning........

We hung up a lot of socks  for you to see and touch the different yarns and colors.
We will add more during the next weeks. Sock yarn not only  makes these colorful foot cozies but also create beautiful  accessories and garments. Since most of it is machine wash and dry its also great for children clothes.

We do not only have the yarn but a huge selection of books  for you to make your dream socks. There will be also a beginner sock class scheduled soon. Stay tuned!
Caution! Sock knitting can be addictive!

Crank-In

I just returned home with Bruno, Sue and Bonnie  from a wonderful Circular Sock Machine Crank-In hosted by the manufacturer, Erlbacher Gearhart Company in Cape Girardeau, MO.    Sue was kind enough to drive her van because we had so much stuff.  We realized when we got home that we didn't have to take half of what we brought, but I guess you all know how that goes.  It was a great learning experience for all that attended.  We met wonderful people and the Erlbachers made sure that we were all well taken care of.  There were over 100 attendees.

I did a demonstration at the beginning of the Crank-In

Cranking is fun

Indulge in color

Ellyn Cooper, a local hand dye artist, brought in a shop sample of a new shawlette she did.
The colors of her yarn are extraordinarily rich.

This gorgeous piece is called "Zohar Multi Task" and took 2 skeins of Zohar socks (color Old Orchard and Fern Gully). The colors and pattern will be available here. Also check out her other  yarns.

We got in some new colors of Triana from Katia yarns. Just the right yarn to make a quick and easy ruffled scarf. You will get a free pattern with the purchase of a skein of this fun yarn to make a scarf like shown on the picture below. It only takes one skein!

Triana can also be used for edgings of sweaters, cuffs......
